On the trails of Israeli vineyards

8 days | 7 nights

The land of milk and honey...and wine!

Israel has produced wine for over 3,000 years, with grapes being one of the seven species recognized in the Old Testament. Wine plays a big role in Jewish tradition and festivals as a symbol of prosperity and hope.

Despite the small size of this country, once formed by the Twelve Tribes of Israel, there is a diverse geographic and climatic distribution of wine-growing regions from the north to the south of the country. This diversity creates an exceptional variety of wines and gives real meaning to what we might call the "hidden biblical terrain".

Israeli wine was revolutionized at the end of the 19th century thanks to the French Jewish philanthropist Baron Edmund de Rothschild who imported and planted Bordeaux grape varieties in Israel. But it is really in the last 20 years that wine has become popular in Israel with the meteoric rise of boutique wineries, some of which are now internationally renowned.

They gently reveal their charms to the delight of amateur and expert visitors alike, making a wine route that’s "holy" loved!

Romantic

JARRED BY THE AMPHORAE

Amphorae is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful wineries to visit in Israel, with its two stone buildings reminiscent of traditional Provencal farmhouses and a lavender-scented organic botanical garden.

Amphorae is located in the magnificent Carmel region, and is noted for its commitment to protecting the environment by promoting sustainable production techniques such as solar energy and water purification.

Enjoy a Blanc de Noirs accompanied by a generous plate of fresh local cheeses and vegetables on the gorgeous shaded terrace of the botanical garden - a truly special experience.

Pelter, from the USA to the Golan Heights

Located in the Golan Heights, with hot, dry summers and very cold winters, the wines produced by Sam Pelter and his family are often considered by local and international critics to be the best in the country.

Nothing is left to chance in the different stages of production to make a high-quality wine using Australian production techniques.

Come and taste the excellent Pelter wines in the authentic storeroom where you can smell the fermentation rising up from the enormous stainless steel wine cylinders, before the wine finishes its journey in French oak barrels.

Domaine du Castel, a stone’s throw from Jerusalem

Words like harmony, aesthetics, refinement, patience, elegance and precision perfectly encapsulate the values behind the Domaine de Castel winery located in the Judean hills at 750 meters above sea level.

This delicate blend of ideal fertile land, hard work and a family’s shared passion are surely the secrets of the success of this wine estate, which for years has created wine of exceptional quality that has won numerous national and international awards.

What could be more enjoyable than starting or ending your day with a fresh rosé in your hand, admiring the wooded hills of Judea and gazing into the distance towards Jerusalem?

The great Nana

A story of challenge, dedication and love for the desert!

Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc are the main grape varieties of this winery located in the heart of the Negev Desert next to the Ramon Crater.

The Nana winery, named for the owner's nickname, is a true example of perseverance and overcoming extreme climate conditions to produce a high-quality and confident wine! Imagine the excitement of seeing your vine shoots emerging from this arid land.

More than just an impressive feat of agriculture; it’s the fulfillment of a dream.
